Expertise
After I came into contact with cryo-EM for the first time during a university internship with Prof. Spahn in the fall of 2010, I was immediately fascinated by this technique.
I decided to specialize in the field of cryo-EM and wrote both my master's and doctoral thesis in Prof. Spahn's laboratory. I learned how to use the microscopes and got a profound training in single particle analysis of ribosomal complexes.
After my PhD thesis I moved to the Max-Delbrück-Center as a Post-Doc in the group of Prof. Daumke where I started to establish cryo-EM in the north of Berlin and extended my knowledge in cryo-electron tomography and subtomogram averaging. Since February 2020, I am assigned as a Scientific Operator to the Core Facility for Cryo-EM at Charité. Here I am in charge of the Titan Krios transmission electron microscope, take care of data processing, support users in preparing their samples and train users on the facility's equipment.
